Today, the sole purpose of the Vannie E. Cook Jr. Cancer Foundation, Inc. is to help support the Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children’s Cancer and Hematology Clinic and the thousands of children and families it serves each year.  The Vannie Cook Clinic was established in 2001 in response to a critical unmet need for pediatric cancer care and treatment in the Rio Grande Valley, and through a strategic collaboration with The Vannie E. Cook Jr. Cancer Foundation, Texas Children’s Hospital  and Baylor College of Medicine  in Houston.
